The Huyspec SL 1000 Digital Basis Weight Scale is a microprocessor based electronic balance which provides the user with an instant and accurate determination of the basis weight of a sample of paper or paperboard according to the ream size or conversion selected by the user.

You may select any basis weight format and sample size which you wish to measure, whether it is one of the traditional North American Basis Weights (ie. Pounds per ream), or European standard grams per square meter.

RS-232 Computer data interface connection is included and an optional printer is available.

The Huyspec SL 1000 is also a full-featured electronic top pan balance, which can do routine laboratory chores in addition to basis weight. It has a capacity up to 1,000gm and a readability to 0.01gm. The instrument can also be equipped with an under balance weighing clip to allow easy weighing of larger sample sizes which might not otherwise be accommodated on the top pan.
